Join an expected 500 people to learn powerful techniques and tactics for lobbying Congress and advancing the Department of Peace Campaign. Meet and team with you local Congressional District Team Leader and other supporters in your area. Facilitated by Lynn McMullen, National DOP Campaign Coordinator, and California State Co-coordinators John Mc Neil and Christine Elliot. Sponsored by The Agape Peace Ministry.

In this workshop, we will be coached on:

* How to clearly communicate our commitment to peace to our Congressional Representatives.Department of Peace Training Day Flyer
* What the process is for getting the DOP bill passed.
* Defining a personal contribution in making an active vote for peace.
We will leave with a practical plan for implementing our next steps and receive a free packet of Dept. of Peace advocacy materials.

A Season for Nonviolence is a 64-day educational, media and grassroots campaign dedicated to raising consciousness and demonstrating that nonviolence is a powerful way to heal, transform and empower our lives and our communities. Inaugurated in 1998 at the 50th and 30th memorial anniversaries of Mahatma Gandhi and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., this interfaith and international event honors their vision for an empowered, nonviolent world.     Celebrate the spirit of nonviolence with music, noted speakers, food and friendship! At this kick-off, John Mc Neil and Christine Elliot, California State Coordinators for the DoP campaign, will make an introduction on the DoP and the big event: The Department of Peace Training Day at Agape on Saturday, March 25, 2006 from 9:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
